Please see below for further information relating to school and nursery admissions.

If you are a resident of Slough Borough Council and you have a child whose date of birth is on or between 1 September 2014 - 31 August 2015, then you will be required to apply for a primary school place for the 2019-2020 academic year. This application needs to be made by January 2019. You must only apply through Slough Borough Council if you are a Slough Borough Council resident.

If you are not a resident of Slough Borough Council you will need to apply through your Home Authority. You will still be able to apply for Slough Borough Council schools through your home Authority.

September 2020 entry to secondary school (for current Year 5)

If your child turns 11 between 1 September 2019 and 31 August 2020, they will start secondary education in September 2020. You must apply for entry to a Secondary school through your home authority. Slough Borough Council residents can apply for non-Slough schools on our application form. The Secondary Admissions Guide, along with the relevant application form, is automatically issued to Slough residents whose children attend Slough Borough Council schools and are due to transfer at the end of the academic year.

The four grammar schools in Slough operate as a consortium for the purposes of 11+ testing. The schools use a common 11+ entrance examination and administer it according to common procedures. A child sits just one 11+ examination, irrespective of how many of the Slough Consortium grammar schools parents are applying to.

To register for the 11+ entrance exam for the Slough Consortium you must complete the online registration process. This will register your child to sit the 11+ Entrance Examination for entry to Year 7 in September 2020. The examination will be held on Saturday 15th September 2018 at four testing centres in Slough.

Pupils new to Year 6 in September will be allocated  a Unique Reference Number in their first week of term, which will give them access to the Slough Borough Council admissions website  www.slough.gov.uk/admissions, so that they can complete a Common Application Form (CAF) listing their preferences for a secondary school in Slough. Slough Borough Council will only accept online applications from September lst until October 31st 2019.  Please ensure that this is done before 31st October as this is vital so that your child can be allocated a secondary school place. Applications are not allocated in a 'first come, first served' basis, so there is time to explore the options available and visit the Open Evenings hosted by the local secondary schools in the first six weeks of term.

Any parents who have children at Penn Wood but live outside of Slough should contact their home authority for a CAF.
