Supporting Phonics

At Penn Wood, children in Reception are following the StoryTime Phonics programme, which follows the Department for Education’s ‘Letters and Sounds’ resource.  StoryTime Phonics is an inspiring programme, teaching sounds in a lively, engaging, multi-sensory way, through real story books. Phonics lessons are taught whole-class, raising expectations for all children, in line with our Mastery approach to learning.

Children in Year 1 and above are following the Read, Write, Inc. Phonics programme.
